Huge snowstorm..forgot to buy eggs..ran out the night before..so went looking for something deliscious ( but healthy) to bake with out eggs...and stumbled on this recipe..easy to make and tastes good too..

Ingredients For ginger cookies

  • 1/2 cup
    shortening
  • 1cup
    dark molasses
  • 1 tsp
    sslt
  • 1 1/2 tbsp
    ginger
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 tbsp
    warm water
  • 3 cups
    flour

How To Make ginger cookies

    Mix shortening, ginger and molasses .
  • 2
    Dissolve soda in warm water and add to mixture.
  • 3
    Add enough flour to form soft dough(about 3 cups).

    Roll out on floured board and cut into rounds. Bake in a 350° oven until light brown..( about 8 min. ).

    NOTE:if desired dough dough may be formed into 2 rolls, wrapped in wax paper and refridgerated. Slice thin and bake as directed..
