fig crispies
I created this after growing weary of fig preserves every year. Very tasty but also healthy!

Ingredients
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup butter (do not substitute)
- 1 - egg
- 2 cups wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 1/2 cups chopped fresh figs
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans (walnuts would also be good or optional)
How To Make fig crispies

Step 1Cream: brown sugar & butter, in medium bowl add egg

Step 2Sift together: wheat flour, soda, baking powder, sea salt and cloves. Add to cream mixture

Step 3Fold in figs & nuts if using. If mixture is dry, do not worry about this. Cool in fridge for apprx 20 mins. This is when I clean up & get my cooling racks ready.

Step 4Form into small balls (not quite an inch, they will rise). Roll in confectioners sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet place 2 inches apart. Bake at 350 for 20 mins. Cook completely.
