If I need a quick and simple bar and don't want brownies this is the one I go to. These are rich and chewy and wonderful.

How to Make Easy Almond Bars

Step-by-Step

  1. Beat the butter until fluffy. Add sugar, salt, extract, and eggs. Beat. Add flour and combine well. This is a very thick batter. Spread in a greased 9x13 pan.
  2. Bake at 350° for about 30 min. or until a toothpick comes out clean. When they have cooled sprinkle with powdered sugar.
  3. Optional: Instead of powdered sugar before baking sprinkle slivered almonds and sugar on top.
