This is another ex MIL recipe. I like the hint of lemon that makes these cookies different than most. And they don't taste like paste!

Ingredients

  • CREAM

  • 1 1/2 stick
    butter, softened
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • BEAT IN

  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1 tsp
    lemon zest, grated
  • SIFT TOGETHER AND SPOON IN

  • 3 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt

How to Make Donna's Sugar Cookies MMB

Step-by-Step

  1. Divide dough into 4 pieces. Wrap in waxed paper and chill 2 or more hours.
  2. Roll one portion at a time to 1/4 or 1/8 thickness on a lightly floured board.
  3. Cut out in your favorite shapes. Sprinkle with sugar decorations before baking.
  4. Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes on an ungreased cookie sheet.
