My daughter and I often bake 15 - 20 different kinds of cookies for the holidays. These Citrus Triangles are different from the average cookie - a pleasant citrus taste, sprinkles for color and easy to make. A family favorite on the cookie tray!

  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    butter, softened
  • 1
    egg
  • 1 Tbsp
    lemon zest, grated
  • 1 Tbsp
    orange zest, grated
  • 1 Tbsp
    orange juice
  • 1/4 tsp
    lemon extract
  • 2 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 2 Tbsp
    multi-color decorator candies - sprinkles
  • CITRUS TRIANGLES

How to Make Citrus Triangle Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. Cream softened butter and sugar.
  2. Beat in egg, lemon and orange zest, orange juice and lemon extract.
  3. Mix and add flour, baking powder and sprinkles.
  4. Divide dough in half and form each half into a 8" long roll. Flatten sides to form a triangle on wax paper - easy! Refrigerate until firm - about 2 hours or overnight.
  5. Cut rolls into 1/4" slices and place 1" apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 -10 minutes at 375 until edges are lightly browned.
