citrus triangle cookies
My daughter and I often bake 15 - 20 different kinds of cookies for the holidays. These Citrus Triangles are different from the average cookie - a pleasant citrus taste, sprinkles for color and easy to make. A family favorite on the cookie tray!

Makes 5 dozen
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 1 tablespoon orange zest, grated
- 1 tablespoon orange juice
- 1/4 teaspoon lemon extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons multi-color decorator candies - sprinkles

How To Make citrus triangle cookies

Step 1Cream softened butter and sugar.

Step 2Beat in egg, lemon and orange zest, orange juice and lemon extract.

Step 3Mix and add flour, baking powder and sprinkles.

Step 4Divide dough in half and form each half into a 8" long roll. Flatten sides to form a triangle on wax paper - easy! Refrigerate until firm - about 2 hours or overnight.

Step 5Cut rolls into 1/4" slices and place 1" apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 -10 minutes at 375 until edges are lightly browned.
