chocolate snickerdoodles
This is a chocolate version of my other snickerdoodle recipe. Wanted to get it down before I forgot what I did but I may update tweeks :)

Ingredients
- 113 grams butter (1/2 cup)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 - large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1/3 cup chocolate chips or drops
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- COATING
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
How To Make chocolate snickerdoodles

Step 1Put 5g (or a teaspoon) of the butter in a small microwavable bowl or cup with the chocolate.

Step 2Beat remaining butter until it is creamy (soften in the microwave for 20 seconds if its hard). Add sugar slowly & cream together (about 3 minutes).

Step 3Microwave the chocolate until soft or melted (about a minute) then beat into the butter sugar mix, followed by the egg & vanilla essence.

Step 4Sift in flour, cocoa, salt, baking soda & cream of tartar & beat to combine.

Step 5In a small bowl or cup, combine the extra sugar & cinnamon.

Step 6Use a 1 Tablespoon measure to scoop out dough & roll into balls then roll them in the sugar/cinnamon mix to thoroughly coat. Place balls on a lined baking sheet, 2" apart to allow for spreading. Do not flatten.

Step 7Bake at 180C for 8-10 minutes. Leave to cool on the tray & they will firm up.
