I first saw this recipe in a Martha Stewart magazine.I tried it-and it quickly became a big favorite!Between the chocolate and chopped ginger,it combines the best of two worlds in one bite!Usually these would be just "everyday cookies" as I say, meaning if it rains or snows,or if a game is on-we make cookies! But these are truly so yummy that my family now asks for them also at Christmas time too, along with our other traditional and special Christmas cookies! It's gotta be a good one tho to be in my holiday category!Enjoy.. as much as we do!!

Sprinkle pinches of white sugar on top of each cookie before baking. Can use colored sugars too!
  • Step 6
**Bake for betw about "11-15" min..OR until the tops are slightly cracked. Careful not to overbake bec they will be too hard.
  • Step 7
**I played with the cooking times from the original recipe.Time varies for whatever reason.Naturally the size you make them effects the cooking time too.You may do as I do..and just watch carefully till done-always within the time frames listed.
