I think the flavor of butterscotch makes you feel so warm so it is perfect for holiday season. So I made these for children my husband takes care as a volunteer hoping these treats make them warm and happy!

  • 9 Tbsp
    butter, softened
  • 1/3 c
    maple syrup
  • 4 Tbsp
    safflower oil
  • 3/4 c
    light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 1
    egg, large
  • 2 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/3 c
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 c
    butterscotch chips

How to Make Butterscotch Cookie


  1. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together butter, maple syrup, safflower oil, brown sugar, salt and molasses until frosty. Whisk in egg then all-purpose flour, corn starch and baking powder. Mix with rubber spatula to blend well. Fold in butterscotch morsels.
  3. Take a spoonful of dough, shape into a ball, place onto the parchment paper and press the top of dough to flatten. Repeat this until the dough is gone.
  4. Bake in preheated 350 degrees F oven for 15-17 minutes.
