brown sticks
This is one of the cakes / cookies I bake at Christmas, it's one of 7 kind of Christmas cookies the Norwegians make.. I love the taste of this, and it has many names here in Norway, But what I use is Brune Pinner (brown Sticks). I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Ingredients
- 200 grams butter (room temperature)
- 200 grams sugar
- 1 - egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon golden sirup
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
- 1 teaspoon bicarbonate sida or baking powder
- 300 grams all purpose flour
- DECORATION
- 1 - beaten up egg (egg white)
- 1 cup perl sugar
- 1 cup coped almond
How To Make brown sticks

Step 1Mix butter and sugar until the butter is white. Then mix the rest of the ingredients with the butter/sugar mix. combine well together.

Step 2Cut it in 6 equal parts, and roll them to a long sausage and press them flat on a baking tray. You can use parchment paper on the tray.

Step 3wisp the egg (what I do is I use the egg white from the one egg yolk from the dough) and coat the flat dough.. and sprinkle the pearl sugar on it, with the choped almond.

Step 4Bake at temp ;175 Celcius When it's done it should be a golden brown color, if not bake it a bit longer.. when done use a pizza cutter and cut on the short side. so they resember small sticks.
