Ingredients

1 1/2 c
sugar
1 c
sour cream
1/2 c
butter, softened
2
eggs
3 or 4
ripe bananas, mashed
2 tsp
vanilla
2 c

1/2 c
chopped walnuts (optional)

FROSTING INGREDIENTS

1/2 c
butter
4 c
powdered sugar
1 1/2 tsp
vanilla
3 Tbsp
milk or half and half

Step-By-Step

1Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease & flour 15" X 10" baking pan with edges.
2Beat together sugar, sour cream, butter and eggs until creamy. Blend in vanilla and bananas.
3Add flour, baking soda & salt. Blend for 1 minute. Stir in chopped walnuts if desired.
4Spread evenly in prepared pan. Bake 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven, cool slightly, and then frost with Browned Butter Frosting (which follows)
5BROWNED BUTTER FROSTING directions:
6Heat butter in large skillet over medium heat until bubbling, turn heat down to simmer and let butter continue bubbling until it turns a delicate brown. Remove from heat immediately
7Add powdered sugar, vanilla and milk. Whisk together until smooth (it should be thicker than a glaze, but thinner than frosting).
8Using a spatula, spread frosting over warm bars. Cool and cut to serve. Leftovers may be stored in covered container in refrigerator for up to a week.
