almond crescents
This is our traditional Christmas cookie. We have had these at every Christmas for as long as I can remember.

Ingredients
- 1/2 pound unsalted, sweet butter (2 cubes)
- 2-1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1-1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1-1/2 cup finely ground almonds (approx. 10 oz.)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
How To Make almond crescents

Step 1In a large bowl, work together the butter and flour with your hands.

Step 2Add remaining ingredients and work together until very smooth; let stand 15 minutes.

Step 3Preheat oven to 275º - 300º

Step 4Take a piece of dough the size of a walnut. Roll into a ball and then squeeze it into a crescent shape.

Step 5Put cookies on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 30-40 minutes. Note: cookies will be VERY LIGHTLY brown in color. Do not let get too brown!
