Ingredients

  • 1/2 c
    shortening
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2
    egg yolks
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 5 Tbsp
    dark cocoa
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    vanilla
  • FILLING:

  • 2
    egg whites
  • 2 c
    confectionery sugar
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    shortening

How to Make Whoopie Pies

Step-by-Step

  1. Drop teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes at 375.
  2. For filling: Mix all ingredients together till smooth. Spread filling on one cake and cover with another cake.
