I whipped up these delicious brownies as a treat for my Mom today...she loves seeing me coming, as she always knows I'll have something delicious to share...and this is her very favorite brownie...that might be, because it's nothing fancy - no nuts or frosting, and they don't need it...I do usually serve them with a dollop of whipped cream, and a sprinkling of cocoa...Mmmmmm melt in your mouth good!! Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2/3 cup cocoa, unsweetened
  • 1 tablespoon karo syrup
  • 4 - eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups ap flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

How To Make mighty fine brownies

  • Step 1
    Preheat your oven to 350 degree F. Spray or grease a 9 x 13 baking pan or dish. Set aside.
  • Step 2
    In a medium sized mixing bowl; beat the first 6 ingredients.
  • Step 3
    In another bowl,combine flour and baking powder, add to the batter and mix well.
  • Step 4
    Spread batter into prepared dish, and bake for about 35 - 40 minutes.
  • Step 5
    Leave to cool, before cutting into squares.
