I found this recipe typed on a yellowing sheet of paper tucked between the pages of a recipe book I bought at an estate sale. I love the flavors of coffee and chocolate together. A note added to the recipe states it has 119 calories per serving.

  • 1/3 cup dutch process cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons strong brewed coffee
  • 3 tablespoons sugar, divided
  • 2 - egg yolks
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 - egg whites

How To Make lo cal mocha chocolate mousse

  • Step 3
When chocolate mixture is cool, beat egg whites in a bowl until foamy. Add remaining 1 Tblsp. sugar and beat until soft peaks form.
  • Step 4
Stir one-fourth of the whites into chocolate mixture, then gently fold in the remainder.
  • Step 5
Spoon into six glasses and chill at least two hours. Top with a dollop of whipped topping and a bit of grated chocolate if desired before serving.
