    butter, room temperature
  • 1 c
    sugar, granulated
  • 1
  • 1 tsp
    grated lemon peel
  • 1 Tbsp
    lemon juice
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1 c
    pecans, finely chopped

How to Make Crisp Pecan Slices


  1. Thoroughly cream butter and sugar. Add egg, lemon peel, and juice; beat well. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Stir in finely chopped nuts.
  2. Shape into 2" diameter rolls. Chill thoroughly for about 2 hours.
  3. Slice thin and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 350 degree oven for 10 minutes. Cool slightly before removing from pan.
