How To Make mrs. claus's fudge from mom (by sharon)
-
Step 1Grease an 8 x 8 inch pan and sides of a medium saucepan, with butter.
-
Step 2In saucepan, mix and cook sugar, milk, and butter to soft-ball stage (236°F), stirring frequently. (Mixture will be boiling.) After reaching this stage, remove from heat, add chocolate chips, marshmallow crème, vanilla extract, and broken nuts (if using). Beat, until chocolate is melted and blended.
-
Step 3Pour into buttered square pan. Immediately score into squares and top each square with a half walnut, if using. Cool and cut into 2 inch square pieces. May require refrigerator for firming. Makes 16 squares. Cut smaller, if you like, for bite size pieces.
