I remember a favorite aunt made something like this when I was 4 years old, I never got her recipe and she's gone now but this one comes close.

Makes about 1-1/.4 lbs
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/4 cup cream or milk
- 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups whole almonds, walnuts, or pecans
How To Make crystallized nuts

Step 1Combine sugar, cream, butter, cinnamon, and salt in 2-quart saucepan; mix well. Bring to boil over medium heat.

Step 2Place thermometer in mixture. Continue cooking to 244 degrees (firm ball stage) stirring constantly Remove from heat.

Step 3Add vanilla and nuts. Continue stirring until candy grains on nuts.

Step 4Spread on cookie sheet to cool.
