Ingredients
- CAKE
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter melted, plus extra butter for greasing pan
- 4 - eggs,beaten
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups pecans, in pieces
- FROSTING:
- 1 box 16 oz. light brown sugar
- 1/3 cup cocoa, unsweetened
- 1/2 cup 1 stick butter (softened)
- 1/2 cup milk (scalded)
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 package (10.5 oz.) miniature marshmallows

Step 1Preheat oven 350 degrees.Grease a 9x13x2-inch pan with butter.

Step 2CAKE:

Step 3In a large mixing bowl,stir togethter the cocoa and the melted butter.

Step 4Add the eggs,flour,sugar,salt,and vanilla.

Step 5Beat well with electric mixer. Add pecans,stirring with rubber spatula. Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 35 min.

Step 6FROSTING:

Step 7While cake is baking, prepare the frosting.

Step 8Beat the brown sugar and softened butter.

Step 9Add the cocoa and beat.

Step 10Stir in the scalded milk and vanilla,beat with mixer until smooth. Set aside

Step 11Remove cake from oven,pour marshmallows over cake while it is still hot. Pour frosting over marshmallows. Let cool slightly before cutting.

Step 12I like to serve this cake warm, so I put it in the oven when we get though eating. ( my family likes to wait and hour or so after dinner to have dessert)
