This is a fast, delicious, surprisingly moist cake! Perfect to take to church socials or just a fun spring cake for decorating. (minus the pecans) I made it to take to my church for our annual BBQ. I cut it into squares and plated individually for easy serving. So good, so easy, so loved!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 sticks butter (1cup)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 cup pecans chopped
  • ICING
  • 1/2 cup butter (1stick)
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond ext
  • 3 cups powdered sugar

How To Make white texas sheet cake

  • Step 1
    Grease and flour 13x9 pan
  • Step 2
    Combine flour, sugar, salt, baking powder in a large bowl.
  • Step 3
    In a sauce pan combine butter and water and bring to a low boil. Add to flour mixture and mix slowly.
  • Step 4
    Slowly mix in sour cream, eggs, and almond extract
  • Step 5
    Pour into 13x9 pan and bake 20-22 minutes on 350*
  • Step 6
    ICING: In a saucepan combine butter and milk. Bring to a boil over low heat.
  • Step 7
    Remove from heat and whisk in almond extract.
  • Step 8
    Whisk in powdered sugar until smooth
  • Step 9
    Sprinkle with chopped pecans.
