This is a fast, delicious, surprisingly moist cake! Perfect to take to church socials or just a fun spring cake for decorating. (minus the pecans) I made it to take to my church for our annual BBQ. I cut it into squares and plated individually for easy serving. So good, so easy, so loved!

Convection Oven


  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 c
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 stick
    butter (1cup)
  • 1 c
  • 1/2 c
    sour cream
  • 2
    eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 tsp
    almond extract
  • 1 c
    pecans chopped

  • 1/2 c
    butter (1stick)
  • 1/4 c
  • 1/2 tsp
    almond ext
  • 3 c
    powdered sugar

How to Make White Texas Sheet Cake


  1. Grease and flour 13x9 pan
  2. Combine flour, sugar, salt, baking powder in a large bowl.
  3. In a sauce pan combine butter and water and bring to a low boil.
    Add to flour mixture and mix slowly.
  4. Slowly mix in sour cream, eggs, and almond extract
  5. Pour into 13x9 pan and bake 20-22 minutes on 350*
  6. ICING:
    In a saucepan combine butter and milk.
    Bring to a boil over low heat.
  7. Remove from heat and whisk in almond extract.
  8. Whisk in powdered sugar until smooth
  9. Sprinkle with chopped pecans.
