Ingredients

2 cups water
2 cups raisins
1 cup fancy molasses
1 cup sugar
2/3 cup shortening
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 teaspoons cinnamon

How To Make wartime cake

Step 1

Boil water. raisins,molasses,sugar & shortening together for about 20 minutes. Remove from heat & let cool.

Step 2

Mix together flour,baking powder & cinnamon.Add to cooled mixture. Put into a greased & floured tube pan.
Step 3

Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees or until done.
