This is a recipe from my next door neighbor - Mrs. Hearn. NOTICE: DO NOT preheat the oven in this recipe because the 10-inch pan has to be placed into cold oven.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 6 - eggs
  • 3 cups cake flour
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 - carton whipping cream or sour cream

How To Make sour cream or whipping cream cake

  • Step 1
    Cream sugar and butter.
  • Step 2
    Add eggs, one at a time.
  • Step 3
    Add flour a little at a time, beating well.
  • Step 4
    Add vanilla.
  • Step 5
    Turn mixer on low speed and add whipping cream or sour cream.
  • Step 6
    NOTE: Be careful not to beat; just blend.
  • Step 7
    Pour into a greased and floured 10-inch pan.
  • Step 8
    Place in a cold oven.
  • Step 9
    Heat oven to 300 degrees F.
  • Step 10
    Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
