I got this recipe from a woman at church a long time ago . It is one of my holiday desserts for family and church gatherings.

yellow cake mix
1 large
egg
8 Tbsp
butter, room temperature
1 pkg
cream cheese softened
1 can(s)
pumpkin
3 large
eggs
8 Tbsp
butter melted
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1 tsp
maple extract
1 tsp
cinnamon
1 tsp
nutmeg
1 pkg
(16 oz) powered sugar

How to Make Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cake

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven 350 F. Lightly grease an 9x13 baking dish.
  • 2Combine cake mix, butter, and egg. Mix until a soft dough forms. Press into the bottom of dish.
  • 3In a mixing bowl beat together cream cheese and pumpkin until smooth.
    Add eggs, vanilla, and maple extract.
  • 4Mix in powered sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. When all combined spread over cake mixture.
  • 5Bake for 30-40 minutes. Do not over bake. Center should be alittle gooey.
    Serve with whipped cream.
