This is pretty much a Pound Cake recipe. I have no idea why my Meema called it Plain.

Ingredients

1/2 lb
butter, at room temperature
2 3/4 c
sugar
6 large
eggs at room temperature
3 c
flour
1/2 Tbsp
salt
1/4 tsp
baking soda
1 (8 oz) pkg
sour cream
1/2 tsp
pure vanilla extract
1/3 tsp
lemon extract
1 tsp
orange flavoring

How to Make Plain Sour Cream Cake

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Butter and flour a tube pan.
  • 2Mix the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • 3Add 1 egg at a time, beating well between each egg.
  • 4Sift flour with salt and baking soda.
  • 5Add sifted flour mixture alternately with sour cream, starting with flour and ending with flour. Beat well.
  • 6Stir in the lemon extract and orange flavoring.
  • 7Bake in prepared tube pan for 1 1/2 hours or until toothpick comes out clean.
