One of my favorite banana cakes...this cake is to die for...so very moist...the frosting is killer too!!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 c
    butter, softened
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 3
    eggs
  • 1 1/2 c
    ripe bananas mashed - about 4 medium
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 3 c
    flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    buttermilk
  • FROSTING

  • 5 - 6 Tbsp
    peanut butter or more if stronger flavor is desired
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter, softened
  • 5 c
    confectioners' sugar
  • 1/4 - 1/2 c
    milk or till desired consistancy

How to Make Banana Cake W/ Peanut Butter Frosting

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Grease and flour 9 x 13 pan.

    In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time.
  2. Beat in bananas and vanilla.
  3. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture, alternating with buttermilk.

    Pour batter into prepared pan.
  4. Bake for 35 - 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean. Cool on wire rack.
  5. For frosting:
    In a large mixing bowl, beat the peanut butter and butter until smooth. Beat in powdered sugar and enough milk for desired consistency.
  6. Spread onto the cake.

    Enjoy this very moist, delicious cake. It's so, so yummy!
