An attorney friend's choice of dessert for unexpected guests which has worked well for me!

Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 oz.) can crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 can fruit pie filling (cherry, peach, berries, apple)
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 2 cups sticks butter
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (pecans, walnuts)

How To Make panic cake

  • Step 1
    Place in 9 x 13 inch greased baking pan in oven with pineapple and fruit filling.
  • Step 2
    Sprinkle cake mix over. Chip butter on top and spread nuts over butter.
  • Step 3
    Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour.
  • Step 4
    Serve up warm in individual bowls topped with vanilla ice cream.
