Ingredients
- - 1 cup butter
- - 4 eggs
- - 2 cups sugar
- - 3 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- - 1/2 cup buttermilk
- - 1 teaspoon baking soda
- - 1 box dates - cut fine
- - 2 cups pecans, cut fine
- - 2 tablespoon grated orange peel
- - 1 cup angel flaked coconut
- - 1 lb. orange candy slices, cut fine
- TOPPING
- - 2 cups powdered sugar
- - 1 cup orange juice
- - 2 tablespoon grated orange peel
How To Make orange slice cake

Step 1Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, mixing after each.

Step 2Roll candy, nuts, and dates in 1/2 cup flour. Sift baking soda into remaining flour and add alternately with milk to the flour mixture..

Step 3Add coconut, dates, orange peel, and chopped orange slices to the mixture. Mix well.

Step 4Pour into a tube or burnt cake pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1-1/2 hours or until done.

Step 5For Topping: Mix together all ingredients and pour over cake while hot. Do not cook topping.
