Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 5 - eggs
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon lemon extract
How To Make old fashioned pound cake

Step 1Cream butter and shortening until smooth. Add sugar and mix. Add eggs one at a time and beat well.

Step 2Add flour and baking powder alternately with buttermilk. Mix well. Add extracts, and mix well.

Step 3Pour into greased and floured large (10 inch) tube pan. Bake at 350F for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes or until done. Cool in pan for 30 minutes before removing from pan to cool completely. Dust wit powdered sugar, if desired.
