How to Make Old Fashioned Pound Cake
- Cream butter and shortening until smooth.
Add sugar and mix.
Add eggs one at a time and beat well.
- Add flour and baking powder alternately with buttermilk. Mix well.
Add extracts, and mix well.
- Pour into greased and floured large (10 inch) tube pan.
Bake at 350F for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes or until done. Cool in pan for 30 minutes before removing from pan to cool completely. Dust wit powdered sugar, if desired.
