This is a cake my Mom use to make. It's so loaded with goodies, why bother with a frosting. This ones for you MOM!

Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups boiling water
- 1 cup uncooked oatmeal
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 stick butter
- 1 large eggs
- 1 3/4 cups unsifted flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon cocoa
- 12 ounces pkg. chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup chopped walnuts
How To Make oatmeal chocolate chip cake

Step 1Pour boiling water over oatmeal in mixing bowl of standard mixer. Let stand for 10 minutes. Add sugars and butter. Stir until butter has melted.

Step 2Add eggs and mix well. Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa. Add flour mixture to batter and mix well. Add you chips and nuts.

Step 3Pour in a 13x9 pan and bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until cake tests done in center and toothpick comes out clean.
