Old favorite recipe of our Mom's.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/3 cups thin milk (half milk, half water)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 - eggs

How To Make mother's day cake

  • Step 1
    Sift into a large mixing bowl the first 4 ingredients.
  • Step 2
    Beat in the softened butter, milk and vanilla. Beat two minutes.
  • Step 3
    Add the eggs and beat another 2 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Pour into greased and floured 10" cake pans. Bake for 35 minutes or until the cake tests done.
  • Step 5
    Frost with your favorite frosting. Also good as the cake for strawberry short cake.
