My mom made this cake when I was a kid. MOST PEOPLE HAVE IT WITH CHOCOLATE ICING MY MOM MADE IT WITH CREAM CHEESE ICING REALLY MAKES THIS A GREAT CAKE.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup hersheys cocoa powder
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups white sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/3 cups water
  • CREEAM CHEESE ICING
  • 12 ounces softened cream cheese
  • 1/2 stick butter softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar

How To Make mom's chocolate mayonnaise cake cream cheese icing

  • Step 1
    PRE- HEAT OVEN 350 DEGREES. SPRAY TWO 9 IN. PANS AND LINE WITH PARCHMENT PAPER.
  • Step 2
    SIFT TOGETHER DRY INGREDIENTS ,SET ASIDE
  • Step 3
    BEAT EGGS AND SUGAR 3 MINS. ADD VANILLA AND MAYONNAISE, BLEND WELL THEN ON LOW SPEED ADD WATER,MIX .
  • Step 4
    MIX IN DRY INGREDIENTS UNTIL COMBINED. POUR IN PANS . BAKE 25 MINS.
  • Step 5
    COOL 10 MINS . REMOVE SET ON RACKS LAY TEA TOWEL GENTLY OVER EACH ONE TO COOL COMPLETELY about 20 to 25 mins.
  • Step 6
    BEAT CREAM CHEESE ,BUTTER AND VANILLA TIL CREAMY ADD POWDERED SUGAR SLOWLY . ICING CAKE STORE COVERED IN REFRIGERATOR.
