moist chocolate cake

This is a recipe a friend gave me years ago but I only tried it just recently. It was delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons oil
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar (i used apple cider vinegar)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup cold water
  • - confectioners sugar for garnish

How To Make moist chocolate cake

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 375*
  • Step 2
    In a mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients. Using a spoon make 3 wells in the dry ingredients. Pour oil into one, vinegar into the other and vanilla into the third. Slowly pour water over all . Mix on low speed till thoroughly mixed (batter will be thin).
  • Step 3
    Pour into a greased and floured 8 inch square (or 9 inch round) baking dish. Bake at 375* for 30-35 minutes. or till a toothpick comes out clean. Cool. Dust with confectioners sugar.
