My husband and I have been making this for years. We buy pretty bottles and fill them for gifts at Christmas. They also make a nice Hostess Gift.

Ingredients

5 cups water
4 cups water
3 pounds sugar (6 1/4 cups)
1 ounce vanilla (2 tablespoons)
12 tablespoons freeze dried coffee (3/4 cup)
26 ounces vodka

How To Make kahlua

Step 1

Boil 5 cups of water and the sugar in one pot for 20 minutes.

Step 2

Boil 4 cups of water and the coffee in another pot for 10 minutes.
Step 3

Mix the coffee and sugar waters together in a large container and allow to cool. When cooled add the vanilla and vodka.
Step 4

Use for coffee and Kahlua, as a topping on ice cream or in any drink or dessert recipe that calls for Kahlua.
