I grew up with this as a boy. My mom would make this at Christmas every year for me. Oh, how I loved this.

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 1/2 cups gum drops
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 6 - eggs
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons orange peel grated
- 2 tablespoons lemon peel grated
How To Make gum drop cake

Step 1Beat butter and sugar together and fluffy. Add eggs and beat well. Combine flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Step 2Reserve 1/4 mix with gum drops and nuts. Stir remainder alternately with creamed butter/sugar mixture. Stir in gum drops and nuts and peels.

Step 3Spread batter in greased and floured tube pan.

Step 4Bake 300 degrees for 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Step 5Remove immediately from pan.....cool and wrap.
