Going to let the first recipe I post be one of my grandmas! She's why I enjoy cooking so much. I remember always looking forward to going to her house because we'd always end up in the kitchen together. This was a holiday favorite and she'd always make two or three so everyone was able to get some. So moist and delicious.

Ingredients

    flour
  • 4 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2/3 c
    cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 6 Tbsp
    butter, melted
  • 3 1/2 c
    applesauce
  • 1/2 tsp
    ginger
  • 1/2 tsp
    clove
  • 2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 2 c
    raisins
  • 1 c
    chopped nuts

How to Make Grandma Florence's Applesauce Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix or Sift dry ingredients together.
  2. Add melted butter and applesauce.
  3. Mix all ingredients together well and pour into a greased bunt pan.
  4. Bake at 350 for about one hour or until toothpick comes out clean.
