Going to let the first recipe I post be one of my grandmothers! She's why I enjoy cooking so much. I remember always looking forward to going to her house because we'd always end up in the kitchen together. This was a holiday favorite, and she'd always make two or three so everyone was able to get some. Moist and delicious.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Why do grandmothers have the best recipes? This applesauce cake is delicious. We loved the blend of cocoa with the warm ginger, clove, and cinnamon spices. There are pops of sweetness from the raisins and a little crunch from the chopped nuts. Use whatever type of nut you prefer - walnuts or pecans are great. Enjoy a slice of this super-moist applesauce cake for a wonderful dessert.
