funny cake a/k/a chocolate breakfast cake
I am told this Funny Cake is localized to Pennsylvania and was given to me by a Pennsylvania native who indicated it is used as a breakfast cake. I absolutely loved it as it is not too sweet and would be perfect with a hot cup of coffee or tea.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup oil
- 2 - eggs
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 - pie crusts (store bought)
- 1 cup sugar (this starts the chocolate sauce)
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup hot water
How To Make funny cake a/k/a chocolate breakfast cake

Step 1350 degree oven. Use your favorite pie crust recipe or store bought crust. Makes two pies.

Step 2In large bowl, cream together sugar, oil and eggs. Mix the flour and baking powder together in a small bowl and add it to the sugar mixture. Beat in the milk and vanilla. Beat until nice and fluffy; about two minutes.

Step 3For the Chocolate Sauce: Mix the 1 cup of sugar with 1/2 cup cocoa and dissolve in 1 cup hot water. Pour the cake batter into the pie shells. Add the chocolate sauce over the top of the cake batter.

Step 4Bake for one hour. ENJOY!!
