Ingredients
- CAKE
- 1 package french vanilla cake mix, prepared according to package directions
- 1/2 cup finely chopped almonds (can also use toasted coconut or a combination of both)
- 1/2 cup ready-to-spread chocolate frosting
- GLAZE
- 1/2 cup ready-to-spread chocolate frosting
- 2 1/2 teaspoons hot water
How To Make french vanilla surprise cake

Step 1Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 12-cup bundt pan.

Step 2Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Stir in chopped almonds. Reserve 1 cup of batter.

Step 3Pour remaining batter into bundt pan.

Step 4Stir 1/2 cup of frosting into the reserved cup of cake batter. Spoon this mixture in a continuous narrow ring, about 1 inch wide, onto center of batter in pan. Mixture should not touch center or side of pan.

Step 5Bake as directed on package, about 40 - 45 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes before turning onto cake serving plate. Cool completely.

Step 6GLAZE - Mix 1/2 cup frosting with hot water until thin enough to drizzle. (Can also microwave just the icing until it melts.) Spread glaze over cake, letting some drizzle down the sides.
