These drunken grilled peaches are finger-licking good.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Who knew you can make fresh peaches even better by grilling them? These grilled peaches are simple to make, yummy, and just taste of summer. The marinade smells strong because of the bourbon, but in the end, they do not have a strong alcohol flavor. In fact, once they are grilled, the flavor is hardly noticeable. The bourbon just adds that little something to the peaches. Using a grill pan helps with the caramelization of the peaches and prevents them from falling through the grill grates. In the end, the peaches are sticky and sweet. We could eat them straight off the grill. But Lorna's serving suggestion is delicious as well. A fab light, summery dessert.

Ingredients For drunken grilled peaches

  • 3 c
    fresh peaches
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 tsp
  • 1/4 c
    bourbon (your choice of brand)
  • 1/4 c
    cold water

How To Make drunken grilled peaches

  • Brown sugar, vanilla, bourbon, and water in a resealable bag.
To make the marinade you combine brown sugar, vanilla, bourbon, and water. Put in a plastic baggie.
  • Sliced peaches added to the bag.
Then peel and slice your peaches about 1/4" thin and add to the marinade. Make sure all the peaches are in the marinade. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes or longer if you can do this ahead of time.
  • Peaches placed on a grill pan.
Make sure you oil your grill sheet or pan. Remove the peaches from the marinade. You don't have to save this unless you want to drink it ;). Put them on the grill sheet, put the tray on a medium heat side of the grill.
  • Turning the peaches while they grill.
Grill them, turning once, until warmed through. About 7-8 minutes per side.
  • Drunken Grilled Peaches on pound cake.
I add the peaches to some strawberries and blueberries. Slice angel food cake and top with Cool Whip. I hope you enjoy this as much as we do.
