I have had this recipe over 25 years. This cake is easy and delicious. You can put any icing you like on it. I use the Chocolate buttercream.

    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 c
    butter softened
  • 1/4 c
    crisco shortening
  • 1 c
  • 1 1/2 tsp
  • 3

How to Make Delicious Yellow Cake


  1. Make sure Butter is softened and eggs and milk are at room temperature before you begin. Measure all ingredients into a large bowl. Blend on low for 1 minute scrapping bowl. Mix on high speed for 3 minutes. Pour into baking pan 9 x 13 and bake for 40-45 minutes. If you want to make cupcakes fill cupcake cups about 2/3 full and bake for 18-20 minutes. Enjoy.....
  2. Chocolate Frosting..
    1/4 cup melted butter
    1/2 cup cocoa
    1/4 tsp salt
    1/3 cup milk
  3. 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
    3 cups confectioners sugar.
    Combine butter, cocoa and salt. then add milk and vanilla. Mix sugar in 3 parts beat well and enjoy.
