Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c
    shortening
  • 2 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 5 large
    eggs
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1 c
    coconut
  • 1 tsp
    coconut flavoring
  • 3 c
    flour
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder

How to Make Coconut Pound Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
  2. Cream shortening and sugar.
  3. Add eggs, beating after each.
  4. Add milk and flavoring.
  5. Add sifted dry ingredients.
  6. NOTE: Be careful not to overbeat.
  7. Add coconut.
  8. Pour into a greased and floured 10-inch Bundt pan.
  9. Bake at 300 degrees F for 1 and 1/2 hours.
