2 stick
butter, softened
1/2 c
butter crisco
5 large
eggs
3 1/2 c
all purpose flour
4 Tbsp
cocoa powder
1/2 tsp
salt
1/2 tsp
baking powder
1 c
milk
1 tsp
pure vanilla extract

How to Make Chocolate Pound Cake

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 350. Cream together in a mixing bowl, sugar, butter, and shortening. Add eggs, one at a time to creamed mixture stirring well after each one.
  • 2Sift together dry ingredients. Alternate adding sifted ingredients and liquid ingredients into creamed mixture until all ingredients are blended together.
  • 3Pour into greased 13x9 baking dish and bake at 350 for 1 hour, it may need an extra 10 minutes if not done in center. Test with toothpick.
