Ingredients

  • 1 package (18 ounce) dark chocolate cake mix
  • 1 package (3 ounce) instant chocolate pudding
  • 1 - (16 ounce container sour cream
  • 3 - eggs
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup chocolate syrup
  • 1 1/2 cups miniature semisweet chocolate chips

How To Make chocolate layer cake

  • Step 1
    In a large bowl, combine cake mix, pudding mix, sour cream, eggs, oil and chocolate syrup. Beat until ingredients are well blended. Fold in chocolate chips. Batter will be thick.
  • Step 2
    Spoon into 2 greased and floured 9 inch layer cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Cool 10 minutes in pan; then turn out and cool completely on wire rack.
  • Step 4
    Frost with your favorite chocolate frosting.
