Ingredients

1/2 c
butter, softened
1 c
sugar
2
eggs
1 tsp
vanilla extract
2 c
all-purpose flour
1 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
baking soda
1 c
(8 oz) sour cream
1 c
semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 c
brown sugar, lightly packed
1 tsp
ground cinnamon

How to Make Chocolate Chip Cake

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9-inch square baking dish.
    In a large bowl, cream butter and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla.
    Combine the flour, baking powder and baking soda.
    Add to the creamed mixture alternately with sour cream, beating well after each addition.
  • 2Spread half the batter in baking pan.
    Sprinkle with the chocolate chips.
    Combine the brown sugar and cinnamon- sprinkle over chips.
    Spread remaining batter on top.
  • 3Bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack, and cut into squares.
