My family loves to eat. My son loves chocolate. This is one of his favorite cakes. He says the more chocolate the better. This cake is buttery, moist and very delicious. Always hit, no matter the occasion.

Ingredients

  • 3 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 package cream cheese, room temperature 8oz
  • 3 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups cake flour
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder, dark
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup confectioners' sugar, optional
  • 1 package chocolate frosting, optional

How To Make butter chocolate cake

  • Step 1
    Beat butter and cream cheese with a mixer on medium speed until mixture comes together.
  • Step 2
    Add sugar; beating until light and fluffy.
  • Step 3
    Reduce speed to low. Add extracts and salt.
  • Step 4
    Stir flour and dark cocoa together in a medium bowl. Add eggs, one at a time, alternating with flour/cocoa mix, until all eggs and flour are used.
  • Step 5
    Transfer to a buttered and floured, 10-cup shaped pan such as a Bundt pan. Place in cold oven. Heat oven to 325 degrees.
  • Step 6
    Bake until an inserted tester comes out clean about 1 1/2 hours.
  • Step 7
    Cool 5 minutes on cake rack. Dust with confectioners’ sugar or place frosting in the microwave and stir until melted and immediately pour over cake.
