This is an old recipe and is delicious. Tastes better with buttermilk. Can make buttermilk by adding 1 tablespoon of vinegar to 1 cup of milk.

Ingredients
- 4 - eggs, separated
- 4 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 2 cups blackberry jam
- 2 sticks butter,melted
- 2 cups milk or buttermilk
How To Make blackberry jam cake

Step 1Mix wet ingredients with egg yolks

Step 2Add 2 cups of milk or buttermilk

Step 3Sift and stir dry ingredients in another bowl.

Step 4Add dry ingredients a little at a time to wet ingredients and stir.

Step 5Beat egg whites till a little foamy and add to cake batter.

Step 6Add 1 cup of raisins and stir. bake at 350 degrees for 45minutes to 1 hour till golden
