Ingredients
- 1 cup blackberries
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 3 cups cake flour
- 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice or 2 teaspoons nutmeg, allspice and cinnamon
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 6 - eggs, beat yokes fold in whites at the very last
- 1 cup chopped pecans

Step 1Combine Blackberries, Buttermilk and Baking Soda

Step 3Combine Butter, Sugar and Egg Yokes, add blackberries, buttermilk and baking soda, add dry ingredients, add pecans. Pour into 2 floured 9 inch layer cake pans, bake at 350 degrees for 25-35 minutes
