My mom came to a family get together at my home a couple weeks ago & she brought this cake. Everyone tried it & loved it. We were all oohing & aahing with every bite. I copied the recipe & I made it today for Easter dinner. It is very easy & very good.

How To Make black walnut cake

1Preheat oven to 350. Spray or grease & flour 2 9 inch cake pans or 1 13 x 9 cake pan. Put eggs in large mixing bowl & whisk well. Add remaining ingredients & mix by hand. Pour into pans & bake 25 to 30 minutes. Cool completely.

2Icing; 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature 1 stick butter, room temperature 2 cups powdered sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 cup black walnuts

3In bowl mix cream cheese & butter together. Gradually add powdered sugar, beating until smooth & fluffy. Beat in vanilla. Stir in black walnuts. Ice cooled cake. Can sprinkle some walnuts on top if desired.
