This easy to make cake is beautiful when presented alongside of a fruit bowl and served with a topping of whipped cream.

Ingredients For banana creme cake

  • 1 box
    yellow or french vanilla cake mix
  • 2
    egg whites
  • 1/8 c
    oil
  • 1 c
    water
  • 1
    banana
  • 1/4 c
    banana liquer (optional)
  • 1-14 oz
    whipped cream cheese frosting
  • whipped topping (optional)
  • 4 sm
    coconut cookie crumbs

How To Make banana creme cake

    Preheat oven to 350 F. Put 1 tsp. Oil into ea. cake pan. Set aside. Mix water into the dry ingredients, adding oil while stirring.

    Whip 2 egg whites until stiff peaks. Then spoon carefully into batter while gently folding the batter until consistency is light & fluffy.

    Pour in halves into pans. Place in oven and bake. (No dancing while baking! Can't shake the floor yet ;-)

    Bake for 25 min. then remove to cool. While slicing banana into small slices for the top of cake. Although if your cakes are unevenly matched you can cut thicker slices to level out by placing them in between the layers before frosting.

    As cake cools poke with toothpick and pour small amt. of banana liquor onto cake. Just for a hint of flavor that makes them ask "hmm, what's that mysterious flavor that tastes so good"?
  • Thick Banana creme in between layers of Cake topped w/ loads of whip creme. Grab a fork and let the feasting begin!

    Time to ice the cake when completely cool. Crumble cookies fine with bottom of spoon and shake sparingly across top and place thin slices of banana on top then serve up. Top ea. slice with whipped cream.

    Enjoy with a tall glass of Milk, it goes great with this cake. Kids aren't the only ones who will love it. (Remember you will want to eat the banana slices on top before refrigerating as they will darken after 4-5 hrs. You can add more next time you serve it up.)
