Ingredients
- 1-1/2 cup mashed ripe bananas
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1-1/2 cup sugar
- 3 - eggs, unbeaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- FROSTING
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup nutella
- 2-1/2 to 3 cups sifted powdered sugar
- 2 to 4 tablespoons heavy cream
How To Make banana cake with nutella frosting

Step 1Cream butter with sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Blend in buttermilk. Add mashed bananas alternately with dry ingredients. Beat until batter is smooth.

Step 2Pour batter into 2 greased and floured 9 inch pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Can also use a 9 X 13 inch pan. Cool for 10 minutes in pan and then turn out onto a cooling rack. Cool completely before frosting.

Step 3FROSTING: In a stand mixer beat butter and Nutella on medium, about 1 minute. Add in powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time. Mixture will appear crumbly. Add in 2 tbsp. cream and continue beating on medium-high speed for about 3 minutes. Add additional tbsps. of cream until the frosting reaches a soft spreadable consistency. I used 4 tbsp. in total.
