Ingredients
- 1 box (18 ounces) butter recipe cake mix or yellow cake mix
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2/3 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 3 - eggs
- 1 cup mashed, ripe bananas
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- FROSTING
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 can (16 ounces) vanilla or chocolate frosting
How To Make banana cake extraordinaire

Step 1Combine cake mix and baking soda. Add the rest of the ingredients and beat on low speed for 1 minute. Beat on medium speed for 4 to 5 minutes.

Step 2Pour into 2 greased and floured 9 inch layer cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.

Step 3Cool on wire rack and frost. FROSTING: Put pecans and butter in skillet. Cook on medium heat, stirring until pecans are toasted. Combine nut mixture and frosting in a small bowl. Cool until spreading consistency. Frost cake.
