awesome apple cake
This cake was a big hit in our house. Even my sons who wrinkled their noses up when I told them what I was making, went back for seconds! This is an excellent dessert to welcome in fall.

Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1-1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 - large eggs, room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1-1/4 cup pecans or walnuts, chopped
- 4 cups apples, peeled and finely shopped
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1-1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- BROWN SUGAR TOPPING
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
How To Make awesome apple cake

Step 1Sift flour, baking soda and salt, nutmeg and cinnamon and set aside.

Step 2Beat together the oil, sugar, eggs and vanilla for 3 or 4 minutes.

Step 3Gradually add in flour mixture to the egg mixture.

Step 4Stir in the chopped apples and nuts.

Step 5Pour into a bundt pan.

Step 6Bake the apple cake for 1 hour and 15-20 minutes at 325 degrees.

Step 7Meanwhile for topping: Melt the butter and brown sugar in a pan over low heat. Stir constantly for 2 minutes.

Step 8Remove from the stove. Spoon over the warm cake. Enjoy!
